What is a Business Forum?

A Business Forum is a small group of business and professional leaders meeting monthly to address their business and personal issues from a biblical perspective. They operate somewhat like a Christian Board of Advisors.

When do Business Forums meet?

A Business Forum group usually meets once a month for 4 to 5 hours (e.g. 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), on a fixed date (e.g. the last Thursday of each month.

How many are in a Business Forum?

A typical Business Forum has only eight to ten members this size gives each man ample opportunity to present timely and important issues each month. The monthly expectation is that each man will receive godly counsel for important, pending decision or actions.

Must each member be a Christian?

Yes. The counsel given and received should be based on a solid relationship with Jesus Christ.

Who leads a Business Form group?

In an effort to provide members with a truly valuable experience, each group has a trained moderator. The moderator is responsible for creating an environment that fosters openness, transparency and full participation by each man.

What are the commitments?

Upon joining a Business Forum, each members agrees to…

  • Honor God in their business and personal life
  • Be accountable to the Business Forum group
  • Be involved in the dialogue and in the other members’ lives
  • Attend faithfully and be on time to meetings
  • Financially support the CBMC Business Forum ministry
  • Maintain strict confidentiality

What is a typical agenda?

  1. Devotional
  2. In-depth discussion of one member’s issue
  3. Discussion of issues facing the other members
  4. Prayer
